Twitter has developed a new set of frameworks to let consumers tweet, and follow others' tweets, from within other websites outside of Twitter. The user may, for example, “twitter” a YouTube video without leaving, subscribe to the Twitter account of a writer at the Huffington Post, or to that of a journalist from The New York Times through a link in the text. Analysts said the framework could spread Twitter activity far beyond its current boundaries.

Twitter Starts Filtering Direct Messages

A new service is designed by Twitter to stop their users from trapping in a phishing links that steal their login info and others. This is really what I want as a user of their social media services. Basically, sometimes, if we click a link from a message sending to us, bad things will happen such as a virus and etc. I really hope with this new service every Twitter users will be safe from something bad cause I don't want to be a victim anymore! For now, the new service only impacts Direct Messages and their accompanying email notifications, but it could be expanded in the future. Keep it up Twitter!

Twitter Use Has Been Steadily Climbing - 600 Tweets Per Second!

Wow, Twitter is so powerful media in this era. The numbers of Twitter users has gone up from time to time. A study from RJMetrics Inc. showed that 10 to 15 million active tweeters using Twitter right now. The numbers of tweet are also climbing up to 50 millions tweets a day. It's about 600 tweets per second. Can you imagine that? Bill Gates Join Twitter

Hey geeks, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates finally started using Twitter (@BillGates). I think the account is held by Gates because it is one of the pages that Twitter lists as a "verified account". His first tweet was "Hello World" (Hello World is actually an output of a simple program that is taught to beginner programmers) and now he has 369,210 followers. He also retweet posts from Time and Ryan Seacrest on Haiti, thanking Seacrest for his work in the quake relief effort.

Twitter Plans To Introduce Tools For Business Users

Twitter was planning to roll out a package of tools for business users of the site by the end of the year. Twitter co-founder Biz Stone said that Twitter's plan focused on two core phases:

- Phase one has and is being spent collecting intelligence on how people use the service.

- The second phase will see Twitter launching tools and services on top of free micro-blogging, these premium tools will be aimed at companies that wish to use Twitter to stay in touch with customers.

Regarding the type of products, although there was no definite answer, Stone says it will be “simple stuff” such as lightweight analytics.

Have you checked the new Twitter landing page? They has given its homepage an extreme makeover and I like the new design. New additions include a search bar, a list of trending topics divided by the minute, day, and week, and the tagline, "share and discover what's happening right now, anywhere in the world." The new search tool allows users to browse Twitter updates from around the world without actually logging onto the site. I wonder what's next? Do you think Twitter will replace Google as a search engine?

Charities On Twitter

This is another great news about Twitter and I really want to say that it really is an incredibly useful marketing tool for businesses and brands, both big and small, to disseminate information and engage with consumers on a massive scale. Recently,Tweetsgiving, another Twitter-based charitable initiative raised over $10,000 in just 48 hours in November of 2008 to fund a new classroom for a school in Tanzania. Beth Kantor reports that she was able to raise over $3000 via Twitter in just 90 minutes. Wasn't that great? Not only for our business, it also has potential to raise charitable contributions.
