Trade Stocks Via Twitter?

For Stocks trader out there, check out this new Twitter application called PollyTrade. It could basically link your Twitter account to a brokerage account and enable you to trade stocks via the micro-sharing service. You send tweets that cause orders to be placed in your brokerage account, and PollyTrade tweets each order status back to you. This is how to use PollyTrade according to their site:

(1) Register as PollyTrade Beta User

When you register with PollyTrade, you tell our system 3 things:

a. Who you are (name, email address, Twitter username)

b. Your E-Trade account (username & password)

c. A password to protect your PollyTrade account settings (only you can review/change/delete the info you provide)

Registration only needs to be done once.Register here.

(2) Tweet your Trades

Once you’re registered with PollyTrade, you can send tweets to execute trades in your E-Trade account. PollyTrade receives your tweet and passes the order to your E-Trade account to execute it.

The tweet trading format is: @pollytrade buy/sell quantity shares ticker

So, to buy 100 shares of GE: @pollytrade buy 100 shares GE

Or, to sell 200 shares of Apple: @pollytrade sell 200 shares AAPL

The word “shares” is included on purpose. For instance, in the first example, it’s clear that you’re buying 100 shares of GE, NOT 100 dollars worth of GE.

Order Types Supported

PollyTrade supports these order types & parameters:

* Stocks
* Buy or Sell
* Market Price
* Good for Day Only

(3) PollyTrade tweets back Order Status

After communicating with E-Trade, PollyTrade tweets back your order status. This is typically a brokerage order number, but if something went wrong, you’ll receive an error message. Typically, errors occur because the original buy/sell tweet was incorrectly formatted, or because your broker refused the order. Your broker may refuse the order for a number of reasons, but typically because you tried to sell shares you don’t have or because you don’t have enough cash to execute a buy order, etc.

(4) Confirm transactions in your E-Trade Account

It’s a good idea to log into your E-Trade account every so often and confirm the trades that have been received from you via PollyTrade & Twitter. We suggest that you log in after tweeting 5-10 orders, or at least once a week.

Paid Surveys Online?

By: Menno Spijkstra

Initially, most internet users considered paid surveys online as an extra source of income only. However, as the industry of online survey prospered, more people have discovered the vast potentials of making unlimited income thru paid surveys online. It is not too difficult to understand how paid surveys work because it basically just means answering online company survey and getting paid for it. However, this is only a brief description of what the whole thing is all about. There are still aspects of this industry that you have to know in order not to fail. It is easy to make money with online surveys but why is it that many people are continuously failing in this industry? Perhaps, there are some missing links that they fail to do and that may be causing the delay of their success.

Experienced individuals in paid surveys online would recommend that you register to at least ten survey companies. You have to anticipate that most companies would only send you a few invitations every week. But if you are registered to at least 10 companies, then you can also increase the number of survey invitations that you will get. Do not expect that you will get tons of surveys when you are only starting out. Other people had to even wait for months till they get a decent number of survey to do. Patience is indeed a virtue for any aspiring online respondent.

Just keep on diligently answering what is given to you even if they tend to come in too slow. Eventually, when you have showed your dedication to your work, online companies will notice your persistence. Also, make sure that you check your email regularly for any new form to fill-out especially that companies also set deadlines in complying with the job. If you fail to answer on time, then the companies may shut their doors on you in the long run. So, make sure you get to check your mail box regularly and submit your outputs on time. Too many survey jobs that you fail to answer will force companies to stop sending one for you.

Thus, you will be creating a bad record for your self in this industry. You may join cash free paid surveys. This type of survey do not require you to pay any fee for you to start working with them. Searching for them on the net may take quite sometime since there are hundreds or even thousands of paid surveys institutions on the internet. It may be too good to be true, but do not believe in a company that promises to make you rich with just a works to do. Chances are these companies are scammers. They would ask a joining fee from you with a promise of making you rich instantly.

Be cautious in dealing with these companies even if they have professional-looking sites. Only deal with a reliable paid survey company. Take time in searching for the right groups on the internet so that you will end up with successful paid surveys online job. Keep in mind the important points about paid surveys so to limit the mistakes you make in this work.

FTC Plans To Monitor Blogs For Claims, Payments?

The Federal Trade Commission is planning to crack down on bloggers who review or promote products while earning freebies or payments. This would, for the first time, bring bloggers under FTC guidelines that ban deceptive or unfair business practices. The rules could be quite strict, even extending to the practice of affiliate links--for example, a music blogger who links to a song on Amazon MP3 or iTunes that earns an affiliate commission in the process. Google Books - New Features

For "book worms" out there, I think this is a good news for you. Google has launched a bunch of new features to Google Books in an effort to promote interactivity between readers and the online books.

1- Embeddable previews of books
This new feature allows you to embed a preview of a full view or partner book in your websites or blogs, just like you would with a YouTube video. You can also copy and paste a url link in an email to share the book with your friends.

2- Ramped up in-book search
For public domain and partner books, Google has made the ability to search for a term within a book a little bit more user friendly. When you search for a term on a book, you can now see an image from the part of the page on which it appears. You can also click on those images to navigate directly to the pages inside the book. And you can filter search results by relevance in addition to page order in the book or magazine.

3- Thumbnail view options
You now have the option to click on the thumbnail view button to see an overview of all the pages in a public domain book or in a magazine.

4- Contents drop-down menu
Via a contents drop-down menu, Google Books will now allow you to jump to chapters within the book–or articles within a magazine (the same technology supports the mobile version of Google Books).

5- Plain Text Mode
Google’s made it easier to see the plain text versions of Google Books. The tool bar now includes a ‘Plain text’ button to see the HTML version of the text, which Google says is especially useful for visually impaired users, who can use this format for text-to-speech and other types of software.

6- Page Turn Button and Animation
In addition to scrolling through the book, you can now also click the page turn button at the bottom of the screen. Google also has implemented an an animated line to move with the page turn to make it easier to keep track of your location in the text.

7- Overview Page Overhaul
Google has added an assortment of data about the book on its overview page, including reviews, ratings, summaries, related books, key words and phrases, references from the web, places mentioned in the book, and publisher information.

Image Search is launching a Creative Commons license filter that allows you to simply and quickly find images that are available for reuse. Facebook Payments Platform?

Facebook has just launched the first live integration of its payment service for applications, a first step toward what could become a major new source of revenue for the company. The payment system, called “Pay with Facebook” to consumers, is now live in fbFund-winning application GroupCard. Inside the app, users are able to purchase premium items for anywhere from $3 to $25, which can then paid for with any major credit card or Facebook credits. Facebook credits are the first payment option listed in the user interface. I think, the potential for such a system is huge. If Facebook has its way, this thing could eventually be used around the web and compete with things like PayPal and Google Checkout.
